WE GROW STRONGER BY GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITIES

Change for the Better

Our tradition of giving back spans several decades, with our employees and leadership helping to support the communities where we live and work in meaningful ways. Led by our Change for the Better Committee, we give our employees the time and resources needed to support the charities and causes that are most important to them–helping to improve the quality of life in communities near and far.

Our Community partners

Whether it’s company-driven service days helping our core charities or supporting charities chosen by our employees, our emphasis on giving back is a part of what defines us.

Make-A-Wish: Walk for Wishes

Virtual Event // October 2020

We are proud to call Make-A-Wish one of our core charities. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s annual Walk for Wishes went virtual in 2020. Undeterred, our Team SasserWishmakers achieved its fundraising goal, generating a total donation of $7,000 to support granting the wish of every eligible child who is diagnosed with a critical illness.

Annual Walk MS 2019

Chicago // May 3, 2019

Union Leasing pulled together to form Team Union to support loved ones, some of whom are our colleagues, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an organization near to the hearts of several employees. Team Union has grown to include employees throughout Sasser, with more than $125,000 raised so far. In 2013 under the leadership of Kathie Jarzombek, a Union employee, we were recognized for our contributions with the Excellence in Team Fundraising for Walk MS Award.

Northern Illinois Food Bank

Chicago // February 27, 2019

On Feb 27 2019, we joined forces with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to pack 14, 872 pounds of food providing 12,393 meals to our hungry neighbors. Relying on foundations and individuals to join in their vision that no one goes hungry, the Northern Illinois Food Bank is also a proud member of Feeding America – the source of nutritious food, innovative feeding programs, and hope for more than half a million people each year.
